Siesta Key Beach Vacation

Siesta Key Beach Vacation!

Ready for your Siesta Key Vacation? We’re sharing a few of our favorite ways to spend vacation time at the beach – the #1 beach as ranked by Trip Advisor users.

First things first. If you want to fuel up for the day head over and grab an iced coffee and breakfast at Another Broken Egg. They open at 7AM so go early, avoid the crowd. If you’re staying on the island you might want to look into a golf cart rental at Zoom Around Golf Rentals. It will make your treks across the island easy-breezy. Kids love it too!

After breakfast the obvious (and best!) choice is to head to Siesta Key beach. Go as early as you can to secure your sun spot for the day.

Siesta Key beach has absolutely stunning white quartz crystal sand which keeps it nice and cool, and is soft and powerdy in substance as opposed to sticky and wet. The beach has a wide girth and ample room for you to find your perfect spot for the day. Go stake your beach area for the day!

Practical Tips for Your Beach Day:

Siesta Key Public Beach

  • Arrive early to grab a parking spot (800 spot lot)
  • Restrooms & showers are located in the beach pavilion
  • The pavilion has a variety of assorted foods/drinks
  • Enjoy the playground, volleyball, picnic areas and gazebos all surrounding the beach pavilion area
  • Bring your beach day essentials, a cooler (no glass), goggles and beach toys (if you have kids)
  • Take a trash bag – there are industrial cans to drop trash available as you exit
  • Make lots of sandcastles & don’t forget your sunscreen – you can grab some at the gift shop if you do!

If you want to see the ocean from a different perspective in the middle of the day, try parasailing with Keyparasail! Make sure to call first and make a reservation. If you go, we highly recommend grabbing a strap for your sunglasses (you’ll want to wear them) and a phone pouch to buckle your phone to the life jacket. You can thank us after capturing, and keeping, all the great memories.

Head down Beach Rd and park in the Village (on Ocean blvd). Peruse the shops and be sure to stop at Gidget’s Coastal Provisions for a little travel memorabilia. Grab a table at Siesta Key Oyster bar and enjoy live music and an early, casual dinner. If you’re looking to get dressed up and go out for date night you might try the Café Gabiannos or the Summer House. If you’re not ready for a meal, try a sweet snack at Minature Donuts – an all time Siesta Key favorite.

Walk down to Beach Access 3 (an easy few minute walk from the Village, West on Avenida Messina) to take in the beauty of the Florida Sunset. Take a beach blanket and beverage of choice (no glass), or enjoy an evening sunset walk. We promise you won’t be disappointed!

If you’re in the mood for an adult beverage after sunset, head over to Giligans Island Bar & Grill. They have a variety of talented live music regulars which makes for a perfect, relaxing way to wind down from your day of adventure.

If you want to take the kids for dessert, try Made In Rome Organic Gelato – the best around and an absolutely child approved!

We hope the recommendations above will be a starter canvas for your very special Siesta Key vacation.
